This year we are offering Greg's famous live booktalks, as well as dynamic themed workshops to schools.  These workshops address Writing Great Stories and Storytelling.  The Introductory Presentations  for each topic are 30 minutes long and suitable for groups of up to 125 children or 4 classes. They include stories presented for enjoyment and analysis as well as an introduction to practical methods students can use to write and tell stories.  A teacher's follow-up guide will be included.  Additional Follow-up Workshops suitable for class-sized groups are also available.  They are normally about 40-50 minutes long and can be customized to your specific goals.

Booktalks Save $50 ($225.00 plus mileage with a Minnow Book Fair)

Scheduling Live Presentations

To offer book talks to the whole school, we suggest you group your students in the following manner:

                                                        Workshops

                        Workshops normally start with a group presentation
                        for up to 4 classes followed by numerous follow-up
                        workshops, however this format can (and often is)
                        customized to satisfy individual goals.
       
All presentations should be batched within the AM or the PM portion of the school day where possible.

Allow 5 minutes between talks for students to leave and enter.

The widest range of grades in one session should be 3 years, (eg. grades 3, 4 & 5).  A wider range really constitutes two age groups within one audience.  Even some 3 grade ranges can constitute two age groups -  Grades 2, 3 & 4, and Grades 5, 6 & 7.

JKs are often too young for group presentations.  If they are ready,  and the school grade range is JK-8, a 4 grade range may be included for booktalks (JK,K,1,2).  Sorry, workshops are not available for JK and K level students.

Cancellation and postponement policy.  If a presentation is cancelled within two weeks of the presentation date, 1/2 the usual fee will be charged.  If presentations must be postponed, there is no fee.
